This is the informational handout circulated in the beginning days of Palos Verdes Estates. The street map and street name origins are presented along with the street numbering grid.
This handout describes in detail 'What You Get When You Buy in Palos Verdes Estates'. Lot prices began at $11,500 and increased to as high as $50,000 for a bluff top lot.
Oscar Willet was appointed by Federal Court in 1937, as trustee for the creditors of E. G. Lewis (founder of the 'Palos Verdes Project' investment group), to liquidate the remaining lots. In 1938 Mr. Willet returned to private business as the broker of Palos Verdes Realty. After his death his son Volney Willet operated the firm. After Volney Willet, Elise Young became the broker and owner of the firm. Since 1982 Broker, Roger Vaught, has operated Palos Verdes Realty. Palos Verdes Realty was originally located at the current Veteran's Park site across from the city offices but was eventually re-located to the where the bakery/coffee shop is now located at the front of Lunada Bay Market. The firm was later re-located to the current location at 2325 Palos Verdes Drive West (the building with the tower in Lunada Bay).
The handout shown above includes the original phone number of Palos Verdes Realty (FR 7-1566), when the phone area was also known as 'Frontier'. If that phone number is called it will ring in the office of Palos Verdes Realty to this day.
