Rancho Palos Verdes - Country Club
 
West Palos Verdes Estates is the region North of Hawthorne Blvd. to the Palos Verdes Estates border and from below the Los Verdes golf course to the ocean. This area includes the upscale Capital Pacific Holdings (CPH) development known as 'Oceanfront”; a master planned community of 79 opulent estates with walking trails along the ocean bluff. Oceanfront is located on the West side of Palos Verdes Drive West at the end of Hawthorne Blvd. This 132 acre development has 79 homesites with homes around 4000 to 8000 square feet on lots ranging from 1/2 to 3/4 acres, and has 66 acres of open space. The homes on 22 lots at the southeast portion of the development were built by Warmington and is known as 'The Enclave'.

An area of large luxury custom homes was also developed along the bluff off of Palos Verdes Drive West at Marguerite Drive. This property had been owned by the Berry family who also once owned much of the land above Palos Verdes Drive West  around Berry Hill Road. Marguerite Drive is named for Marguerite Berry who once lived in a home along Palos Verdes Drive West.  Laurel Drive is named after her daughter.

An older development of homes (Point Vicente) extends along the hillsides on the East side of Palos Verdes Drive West. Point Vicente elementary school is located in this community.

Golden Cove shopping center is located at Palos Verdes Drive South and Hawthorne Blvd. This center has a starbuck's, restaurants, offices, shops and a private Montessori school. A 'Trader Joe's' is also scheduled for completion by 2010.


Country Club includes the neighborhoods around the Los Verdes Country Club, and the Monaco development on the East side of Hawthorne Blvd. Communities include Country Club, Monaco, Monte Verde, La Cresta, Palos Verdes Panorama, and Seagate. Los Verdes Country Club is a 18 hole public golf course with clubhouse and banquet facilities and is owned by the county of Los Angeles. It is also a popular wedding venue. An upscale Ralph's market is located at Crest Road and Hawthorne Blvd. Large apartment developments are located off of Los Verdes Drive.

The Rancho Palos Verdes city offices (formerly a Nike missile launch complex with underground silos) are accessed off of the East side of Hawthorne Blvd. but is located within this area. The main entrance to the Salvation Army campus is located just off of Hawthorne Blvd. North of the city offices. Ryan community Park is located at the East border of Los Verdes Country Club and is accessed off of Hawthorne Blvd.
