Palos Verdes County Islands of Los Angeles County

Westfield
is a 175 acre island of Los Angeles County located North of Palos Verdes Drive North on the East side of Crenshaw Blvd., up the hill to the border of the city of Rolling Hills. This is a community of 302 home sites, many of which are over 20,000 square foot equestrian properties. There is a community riding ring (located at the North end of the community), dedicated trails, and a community tennis court  (located at the South end of the community). Westfield is accessed only off of Palos Verdes Drive North.


Academy Hills
is an island of Los Angeles County located North of Palos Verdes Drive North extending up the hill to the border of Rancho Palos Verdes along the West side of Crenshaw Blvd. This is approximately a 58 acre tract with 184 homes developed during the 1970's. There is a small commercial area at the entrance on the corner of Palos Verdes Drive North and Crenshaw Blvd. which is in the city of Rolling Hills Estates.

Chadwick Academy
The renown private academy, Chadwick School, is located on a 55 acre campus at the South terminus of Academy Hills. Chadwick, founded in 1938 by  Commander Joseph and Margaret Chadwick, has an exceptional reputation among prep schools and the campus is akin to a sequestered mountain retreat. The academy has a total of 725 students in grades K through 12 and offers many special study, athletic and service club programs. The limited enrollment is filled every year and has a waiting list. The campus was donated to the school by the Palos Verdes Project and the 70 acres between the school and Palos Verdes Drive North were sold to the school for a near giveaway price of $150 per acre. Most of this purchased parcel became the Academy Hills tract of homes.


Los Angeles Botanical Gardens
is owned and operated by the county of Los Angeles and is located in the city of Rolling Hills Estates off Crenshaw Blvd just North of the county islands of Academy Hills and Westfield.
