Thousands of hours have been expended compiling the material included in this website and in the 'Palos Verdes Specialist' curriculum. A great amount of effort was expended searching historic files at the Peninsula Library as well as through personal interviews and over 34 years of experience. The old 'Palos Verdes Bulletins provided very good historic records. References also included 'Marineland of the Pacific' by Jim Patryla.

The 'Palos Verdes Story' by Delane Morgan proved to be a marvelous resource. This book has been available for purchase at the library and is an extremely well written and documented volume. It is highly recommended for inclusion in a home library.

Another excellent resource was the book 'Time and the Terraced Land' which presents a concise geological history of the Peninsula.

Extensive articles on Palos Verdes geology are available via web searches, especially by searching on 'Portuguese Bend'
